Institutions Under Pressure
The stress test facing institutions of state, and what it means for continuity and legitimacy.
The Institutions Under Pressure roundtable convenes senior practitioners from public administration, the judiciary, regulatory bodies, civil society, and international institutions to work through the pressures, political, economic, technical, that regional institutions are absorbing, and what a credible response looks like.
Format
A closed working session of 15 to 20 participants. Half a day, structured across three sessions: (1) reading the current pressures on regional institutions, (2) sector specific case studies, (3) practical pathways to continuity, capacity, and legitimacy.
Key questions
- Which regional institutions are absorbing the current pressures most effectively, and what are they doing differently?
- How is the legitimacy question being posed, by citizens, by counterparties, by international partners?
- Where is genuine institutional capacity being built, and where is it eroding?
- What role can regional dialogue, evidence based policy work, and civil society play in reinforcing continuity?
Outputs
A closed door briefing note is circulated to participants within ten working days. The roundtable is off the record; the briefing note is on the record for participants only.
